In the marvelous Danny Kaye movie “The Court Jester”, Hubert Hawkins the slightly built hero (played by Danny Kaye), is rapidly made into a knight by passing each “rigorous” test with “He Passes” and a bit of help from the usurping King’s men anxious to have him pass the test so that he can battle Sir Griswold to the death. With fear and trembling and a bit of magic he defeats Sis Griswold and in the end wins the day with the rightful king on the throne.
When Randy accepted his new job in Yuma, Arizona, part of his contract said that he had to pass the EPIC certification test or he would be reassigned (if a job was available) or let go if one was not. Randy recently attended an Interface Analyst class at the “EPIC University” in Madison, Wisconsin with two others from his department. He was told at the class that there is only a 65% chance of passing the test the first time.
After returning home from the class he studied for a few more days. He then requested the test and took it a week ago Friday. He had to wait until the rest of tests sent in the same batch had been taken by the other members of his group and all of the tests were sent in. This happened last Tuesday afternoon. With fear and trembling he waited the rest of the week for the tests to arrive back in Wisconsin and to be graded. He was notified Thursday that his test had arrived and was being graded.
The results came the next day, on Friday afternoon. He Passes!!!! He is now “Knighted” (Certified) to do combat in getting the new EPIC software into the kingdom of Yuma Regional Medical Center or YRMC. Only time will tell if he and the other members of the team defeat Sir Griswold and complete the installation of the new EPIC “King of Hospital Information Systems” software.
